Jen Wooed by John's Warbling? Home-wrecker Jolie on Rug Rats, Refugees

Jen Wooed by John's Warbling? Jolie on Rug Rats, Refugees
Did Mayer use texts and tunes to win back Aniston? Plus, Angelina talks Brad, babies and human rights as new adoption rumors surface. All that, along with plenty of drama-filled romance news ...
It looks like Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are rapidly turning up the heat of their rekindled flame. Following the actress' supposed "first-ever" sleepover at the crooner's Los Angeles pad Thursday night (per OK!), which also happened to be his 31st birthday, they chowed down together on Friday.
People reports the resuscitated squeezes hit the Sunset Tower Hotel, the same spot where they had a "romantic dinner" on Tuesday.
The mag says they "seemed to enjoy one another's conversation" before they made an early exit and headed back to Aniston's digs.
On Sunday, however, Jen, 39, flew solo as she joined a host of other big names, including BFF Courteney Cox, newlyweds Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Ben Stiller, Kate Beckinsale and Tobey Maguire, at a cowboy-themed first birthday bash for Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher's daughter, Olive.

Meanwhile, speculation continues over what led Jen and John to reunite two months after their spectacularly public meltdown.
The London Daily Mirror is convinced the non-time-wasting singer has been "desperately" wooing the actress back with more than just that previously reported "barrage of romantic e-mail" -- seems there were also "soppy texts" involved.
What's more, while many find Mayer's face-contorting warbling a turn-off (what? Is that just us?), Aniston was said to be moved when he serenaded her with a tune she apparently inspired.
"He has even written a song about their time together and played it to Jennifer, who, naturally, was incredibly touched," an insider tells the tab. "It's still early days, though, and John is by no means out of the doghouse. He still has some serious groveling and making up to do. But so far things are going well, and both parties are hopeful of a long-term reconciliation."
And as a sign of good faith, Mayer has ostensibly cut back on his carousing.
"John initially called things off because he didn't feel ready for commitment," adds the snitch. "But after considerable time apart, his priorities have changed and he wants to make a go of things."
In between imprudently snuggling up with an ex-boyfriend who even her pals reportedly think will have moved on by Christmas, Aniston squeezed in a visit to a Los Angeles school for a meet-and-greet with students.
Alas, it seems her speaking engagement at Cahuenga Elementary School on Thursday may have been more promotional than inspirational.
People reports Aniston's hourlong appearance at an after-school program involved answering questions about water, a subject she's well-paid to know something about. She shills for Smartwater and was photographed with a bottle of the refreshing H2O in her hand as she arrived at the event.
"She talked about water things," an assistant superintendent at the Los Angeles Unified School District informs the magazine. "She talked to the students about water nutrition and why it's so important for all of us."
It turns out the A-lister's visit wasn't without a detention-warranting offense. She was chastised by the school's principal for showing up a little late for the presentation.
"As a school principal I need to tell you that you cannot keep our children waiting!" he told the star, prompting her to respond, "I understand! I got that message from my principal when I was going to school, too!"
No word on whether a donation came with the student hydration briefing, a la Britney Spears' recent pop-by at a Bronx middle school earlier this month to present a $10,000 check to its music program from Elizabeth Arden, the cosmetics giant behind her successful line of perfumes.
(Not that anyone asked us, but with the release of "Marley & Me" just a couple of months away, and given Jen's devotion to her own pair of pooches, now might be a perfect time for her to throw her considerable influence behind, say, animal rescue and adoption. We're sure the SPCA or the Humane Society would gladly listen to her thoughts on "water things" in exchange for some publicity. Just sayin' ...)

Anyhoo, Jen should brace herself for the umpteenth round of tabloid coverage on the beyond played-out "rivalry" with Angelina Jolie over her now long-ago ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
The reason? The Oscar-winning mom of Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, Shiloh, 2, and 3-month-old twins Vivienne and Knox, casually mentions in an interview with The New York Times that she awaits the day when the kids can watch "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" because "not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love."
Not exactly a shocking admission from Angelina, 33, who can be seen beatifically breast-feeding on the Brad-photographed cover of the current W magazine, but as the actor was still married to Aniston at the time he shot the movie with Jolie (both have denied anything untoward went on during filming), it's reignited the whole "homewrecker" thing.
Sure, the mountain of dirty diapers the ankle-biter-surrounded amours have changed over the three-plus years they've been together should be enough to make the issue a nonstarter, but unfortunately, as long as Jolie and Aniston continue to sell magazines, expect the saga to continue.
As for Angelina, she again makes it clear that there will be more eclectically named tykes joining their multicultural clan.
"I mean, I know we seem crazy, just bringing them in one after the other, but we do plan," she explains to the Times. "We make sure one is absorbed completely into the family before we add another. There are moments when we look at everyone around the dinner table, and it's just crazy, but our family is the greatest thing we've done in our lives."
But do they plan to add to their brood sooner rather than later?
While Jolie noted on the "Today" show last week, "You can't even start the [adoption] process until any new children are at least 6 months old," the London Daily Mirror predicts the lately Berlin-based parents will bring home a new tot early next year.
The paper believes they'll return to Ethiopia, from where they adopted Zahara, in order to balance out the household.
"But it won't be a newborn," a source tells the paper. "It will be a child who is at least two years old -- maybe three."

Meanwhile, on Friday, Angelina took time out from promoting the Oscar buzz-generating "Changeling" and corralling her clan to head up a conference on international law and justice at the Council of Foreign Relations in New York, where she talked about the "remarkable education" she's received as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.
"I've seen refugees return to live among the same people who attacked them," she told the symposium (via People), which was sponsored by the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. "They are returning to the same lawlessness that sent them running in the first place. I've seen aid workers tear up as they put ladies on a bus and say, 'I don't know what we're sending them back to.'"
Jolie also touched on the topic of the U.S. taking part in the International Criminal Court to prosecute those who commit atrocities.
"I don't know if the ICC is the answer. And I don't know what type of court is, or what it would need to be to make all of us agree and make it strong enough," she acknowledged. "But I do know this: No mother who had her children killed in front of her, no young girl sold into slavery, no boy kidnapped and forced to be a child soldier and no young girl like the 3-year-old I met in Sierra Leone, who had her limbs cut off, should be expected to simply forget. No one should have to choose between peace and justice."
And finally, Jolie has teamed with Microsoft and a host of law firms to help protect the smallest citizens of the world through a pro-bono legal initiative called KIND (Kids in Need of Defense), which will assist immigrant children who arrive unaccompanied in the United States.
"These children often have nothing -- no money, no support and no family, yet they come to America seeking its promises of a better life," the actress said in a statement. "But many end up becoming lost, traumatized and ultimately forgotten."
